All about Missions Committee

1. What is the mission/vision/goals of this ministry?
The purpose of our Missions Committee, along with the field-specific working groups, is to support the Gospel sharing and church planting work in foreign mission fields, especially our adopted mission areas. We primarily do this by supporting National Partners with prayer and relevant resources.

2. What are the requirements for volunteering in this ministry?
The most important requirement is to have a heart for missions, expressed in a burden for pre-believers to know the Gospel.

3. What are the time commitments involved?
It does depend on the specific role you play but in general, you would probably require several hours (4 to 5 hours) every month.
It would be most beneficial if you could set aside a week or so to go on an exposure trip earlier on in your involvement, especially if you have never been to any of our 3 adopted areas.

4. What kind of skills or experience are necessary?
We welcome even those with little to no experience. Nonetheless, if you are keen to serve in a specific position or have the relevant skillset for it, do let us know! (For example, some finance background for the treasurer role or HR background when evaluating about HR policies for the field.)

5. How will I be trained for my role?
You would initially sit in for the relevant meetings, and we will assign someone to walk you through the basic understanding of the mission field(s) you would be serving.
You would also be encouraged to join in for an exposure trip to get to personally know the ground.

6. Can I volunteer if I'm only available on certain days or times?
Yes, of course! We would be happy to tailor your involvement to your level of availability.

7. How do I find out more?
Please approach any of our MCOM Members, particularly Say Yin or Pastor KC, and we will direct you to the relevant people!
